"Knowing that we had an impact and were able to let them know they're supported, it meant more than the world to us,"

A Daphne community is helping support the family of a boy recovering from a brain tumor. Greyson Cushman, 6, continues to recover from surgery to remove a brain tumor, but members of Daphne Youth Baseball have collected funds to help his family with medical expenses.

Those who know Greyson describe him as outgoing, with a big heart, and great T-ball skills. Jeramy Simmons coached the Daphne East Elementary student in T-ball last Fall. "He's just the kid that you'd love to coach. I mean, he wants to learn. He's just an awesome kid. He's an outgoing kid. He's very sweet," said Simmons.  On Wednesday night, Simmons and other members of Daphne Youth Baseball donated nearly $20,000 to Greyson's mother Christina. The funds were collected during a fundraising tournament on Sunday, May 5.
