Muggsy Bogues stands taller and stronger at five-foot-three than anyone else. The former NBA and Toronto Raptors star stopped by Saskatoon on Saturday to impart his knowledge and life experience to a group of children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Saskatoon as part of the Dunk for Diabetes awareness program run by Sun Life Financial. The kids got the chance to be a part of a basketball clinic where Bogues was helping out and teaching.
Karine Zanier, SunLife director of philanthropy and sponsorship, said the kids at Saturday’s event were there to celebrate the completion of a six-week program that helped educate them on healthy eating and being active as a way to combat Type 2 diabetes.
